Job summary

addus is seeking a Hospice Aide (STNA/CNA) in the Greater Cincinnati Area to provide compassionate, personal care for hospice patients. In this role, you will support patients in their daily activities and ensure comfort and safety.

The ideal candidate will possess an active STNA or CNA certification and have a passion for caring for terminally ill patients. With a supportive team-centered culture, you will be part of a mission-driven organization dedicated to compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Listed on the state nurse aide registry in good standing.

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care to hospice patients in home settings
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, oral care, dressing, and toileting
• Support patient comfort and safety, including proper use of medical equipment (oxygen, bed rails, etc.)
• Perform skin care and positioning to prevent breakdown and promote comfort
• Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and light household tasks as assigned
• Take and document vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure) as directed
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to the RN Case Manager
• Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and families
• Offer respite care for caregivers when needed
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with hospice standards

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 16 years of age
• Active State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) / Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
• Listed on the state nurse aide registry in good standing
• Current BLS
• Passionate care to terminally ill patients
• Strong communication and observational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in hospice, home health, or long-term care
• Experience supporting patients with chronic or terminal conditions
