Job summary

Day City Hospice is seeking a dedicated Hospice Aide (STNA) to provide compassionate in-home care in Dayton and surrounding areas. Workdays are Monday–Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with no evenings or weekends, offering a predictable daytime schedule and a patient-centered team environment.

You will assist with ADLs, monitor patient conditions, support families, and help maintain safety and comfort under the supervision of the RN Case Manager.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Active State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) or CNA certification.
• Listed on the state nurse aide registry in good standing.
• Current BLS certification.
• Understanding of hospice philosophy and end-of-life care.
• Strong communication, compassion, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care to hospice patients in home settings.
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, dressing, oral care).
• Support patient safety and proper use of medical equipment.
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding and nutrition as needed.
• Take and record vital signs as directed.
• Monitor skin integrity and prevent breakdown.
• Observe and report changes to the RN Case Manager.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and families.
• Offer respite care for caregivers.

Key Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in hospice home health or long term care
• Comfort providing care to terminally ill patients
