Job summary

Bristol Hospice in Lubbock, TX seeks a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) with strong assessment skills for PRN hourly work.

You will conduct comprehensive patient and family assessments, deliver nursing care, develop and adjust care plans, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to meet hospice goals.

Requirements include at least one year of acute care experience, current RN licensure in Texas, and flexibility to travel across the Bristol Hospice service area.

Qualifications

• At least one year of acute care experience in an institutional setting.
• One year of home care experience preferred.
• Current RN licensure in the state.
• Understand hospice philosophy and care for the terminally ill.
• Flexible in work hours and travel across Bristol Hospice service area.

Responsibilities

• Complete initial, comprehensive and ongoing assessment of patient and family to determine hospice needs.
• Provide a complete physical assessment and history of current and previous illness.
• Provide professional nursing care using the nursing process.
• Assess and plan with written plan of care; re-evaluate as needed.
• Communicate with the physician and obtain orders as required.
• Teach patient and family self-care techniques; involve them in planning.
• Work with the interdisciplinary team to support patient goals.
• All other duties as assigned.
