Capital City Hospice in Central Ohio seeks an After-Hours On Call RN to support patients, families, and caregivers during evenings, weekends, and holidays. The role requires an RN with strong assessment skills, CPR certification, and the ability to manage after-hours workloads while coordinating visits and documenting care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Current RN license in Ohio.
• Minimum of two years of professional nursing experience.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and nursing judgment.
• CPR certification current.
• Valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance.

Responsibilities

• Triage after-hours patient and family calls, assessing needs and determining appropriate interventions.
• Coordinate nursing visits and delegate care to appropriate team members when needed.
• Assess physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of patients and families.
• Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, and community resources to ensure seamless care.
• Provide symptom management recommendations and update care plans accordingly.
• Perform clinical pronouncements of death and offer compassionate support to family members.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, care plans, and progress notes.

Qualifications

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Ohio
• Minimum of two years of professional nursing experience
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and nursing judgment skills
• Ability to support families during emotionally challenging situations with empathy and professionalism
• Current CPR certification
• Valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance
