Job summary

University of Michigan Health-Sparrow is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Hospice House to provide professional nursing care, assess and plan patient treatment, and coordinate with the Interdisciplinary Team to deliver high-quality end-of-life care.

The role requires an active Michigan RN license and BLS certification, with experience in hospice or related settings. A valid driver’s license and insurance are required, and the nurse may participate in education and mentoring of staff.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan RN license is required.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
• Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition, pain and symptoms; initiate appropriate nursing care per guidelines.
• Develop a plan of care aligned with medical diagnosis and treatment plan.
• Document assessments, plans, and patient responses; communicate changes to the Hospice IDT.
