Job summary

BSA Hospice of the Southwest in Amarillo, TX seeks a compassionate Registered Nurse to administer skilled nursing care to patients and families in their home or residence.

The RN will coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team, patient/family, and referring agency, and will assume responsibility for coordinating care across settings, with emphasis on palliation and end-of-life support.

Travel locally and adapt to varying environments, ensuring privacy, safety, and adherence to care plans.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing.
• Licensure: Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) and/or in accordance with the Board of Nurse Examiners rules for Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC), current Texas Driver's License.
• Experience: Two years experience as a Registered Nurse in a clinical care setting preferred, hospice preferred.
• Skills: Nursing skills as defined as generally accepted standards of practice. Good interpersonal skills. Specialized skills preferred in palliation and end-of life. Must read, write and comprehend English.
• Transportation: Reliable transportation. Valid and current auto liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Administer skilled nursing care for patients and families in their home or residence.
• Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary group, patient/family and referring agency.
• Assume responsibility for coordination of care across settings, with emphasis on palliation and end-of-life support.
• Travel locally to patient homes and facilities as needed, maintaining safety and confidentiality.
