Job summary

Anodyne Palliative Services in Chicago is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide compassionate hospice care to patients and families. You will assess physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans that uphold dignity and comfort.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois RN license required.
• Minimum of 1 year nursing experience, preferably in hospice/palliative care.
• Knowledge of infection control principles and practices.
• Familiarity with sterile processing techniques.
• Experience in family planning and counseling.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and assist ambulatory patients.
• Familiarity with dementia care techniques.
• Knowledge of medical imaging procedures and interpretation.
• Experience with esthetic laser treatment is a plus.
• Familiarity with DME usage and maintenance.
• Proficiency in sonography is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to hospice patients and families.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans with the interdisciplinary team.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
• Monitor and evaluate patient's response to treatment and adjust care plan as needed.
• Educate patients and families on disease process, symptom management, and end-of-life care options.
• Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and families.
• Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
• Document patient care activities accurately and timely.
