Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited registered or practical nurse program.
• Three years nursing experience; hospice or medical/surgical experience preferred.
• Currently licensed as an RN/LPN/LVN in Montana.
• Complies with accepted professional standards and practice.
• Demonstrates good verbal and written communication and organization skills.
• Must be a licensed driver with insured vehicle and in good working order.
• Understands hospice philosophy and needs of the terminally ill.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care as defined in the State Nurse Practice Act, including end-of-life care duties.
• Assists with on-call and PRN needs.
• Implements current nursing practice following a comprehensive assessment and care plan.
• Provides accurate and timely documentation reflecting the plan of care.
• Educates patient and family/caregiver about diagnosis and self-care.
• Coordinates hospice services with the interdisciplinary team and reports needs.
• Uses and prepares equipment with aseptic technique.
• Manages pain and symptoms and evaluates treatment responses.
• Participates in professional growth and quality improvement activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the registered nurse.
