Job summary

Stillwater Hospice is hiring a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. The role involves following the plan of care, delivering treatments, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to achieve positive patient outcomes.

The position requires MT licensure (RN/LPN/LVN), a minimum of three years nursing experience, and strong communication skills. On-call duties are included in addition to hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Three years nursing experience; hospice or medical/surgical background preferred.
• Licensed RN/LPN/LVN in the State of Montana.
• Demonstrates good verbal and written communication and organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care under supervision of a registered nurse.
• Carries out plan of care and treatments; collaborates with interdisciplinary team.
• Documents patient services accurately and timely to reflect the plan of care.
• Assesses patient and family education needs related to diagnosis and self-care.
• Coordinates hospice services and reports needs to interdisciplinary group (e.g., OT, PT, SW, ST, Dietician, Clinical Supervisor).
• Uses equipment and supplies with aseptic technique; manages pain and symptom control.
• Participates in professional growth and organization's quality improvement activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the registered nurse.

Pay: $35 - $44 / Hour
on call pay in addition to hourly pay
Job Description Summary The Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Responsibilities include following the plan of care, providing treatments, and working collaboratively with the members of the team to help meet positive patient care outcomes. Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

• Provides direct pati ent care as defined in State Nurse Practice Act, including specialized duties related to end of life care.
• Assists with on-call and PRN needs
• Implements current nursing practice following a comprehensive assessment and the plan of care.
• Provide accurate and timely documentation of patient services to reflect the plan of care.
• Assess and provide patient and family/caregiver education and information pertinent to diagnosis and self plan of care.
• Participates in coordination of hospice services, appropriately reporting the identified needs to the interdisciplinary group. Examples include hospice aide, OT, PT, SW, ST, Dietician or Clinical Supervisor.
• Uses and prepares equipment and supplies effectively, adhering to aseptic technique.
• Provides appropriate pain/symptom management. Evaluates patient’s response to treatments/medications.
• Participates in personal, professional growth and development. Also participates in organization's quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the registered nurse.

Position Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited registered or practical nurseprogram.
• Three years nursing experience. Community health/hospice or medical/surgical
  experience is preferred.
• Currently licensed as an RN/LPN/LVN in the State of Montana.
• Complies with accepted professional standards and practice.
• Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organization skills.
• Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order.
• Understands philosophy of hospice concept. Also understands needs of the terminally ill.
