Job summary

VITAS Healthcare in Florida is seeking a compassionate Home Care Registered Nurse (RN) to ensure hospice patients are comfortable and build meaningful connections with families. You will autonomously make bedside care decisions while guiding patients through the end-of-life journey.

With at least two years of nursing experience and an active RN license in the state, you will join a team that values commitment, compassion, and a can-do attitude, visiting patients in their homes and collaborating

Qualifications

• Currently licensed to practice nursing in the state where the VITAS program is located.
• A minimum of two years of nursing experience in hospice, home health, or community health in the last five years.
• Equivalent experience or licensure may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Ensure hospice patients are comfortable and forge compassionate connections with the people in their lives.
• Make bedside care decisions autonomously while maintaining patient trust and comfort.
• Visit patients in their homes and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including social workers, physicians, chaplains, and nurses.
• Support families by explaining the palliative nature of hospice and the benefits of comfort-focused end-of-life care.
