Job summary

VITAS Healthcare, the nation's leading end-of-life care provider since 1978, is seeking a home care registered nurse (RN) to ensure hospice patients are comfortable and to forge compassionate connections with the people in their lives.

You will work primarily in patients' homes or in assisted living/skilled nursing facilities, with 4–6 visits daily. Weekly, you’ll meet with an interdisciplinary team to support patients and families through the end-of-life journey.

Qualifications

• Must hold RN license in the state where the program is located.
• At least two years of nursing experience in hospice, home health, or community health in the last five years.
• Equivalent experience or licensure may be considered.
• EOE/AA M/F/D/V

Responsibilities

• Provide comfort and compassionate care to hospice patients at home.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including social workers, physicians, chaplains, and nurses.
• Visit patients at private residences or facilities, typically 4–6 visits per day.
• Support patients and families in understanding the palliative nature of hospice and its benefits.
