Job summary

VITAS Healthcare is recruiting a home care registered nurse (RN) to ensure hospice patients are comfortable and to forge compassionate connections with families. You will provide end-of-life care with autonomy at the bedside, upholding the program’s commitment to comfort and dignity.

You will visit patients at home or in care facilities, collaborating with social workers, physicians, chaplains, and nurses to support holistic care.

Qualifications

• Must be currently licensed to practice nursing in the state where the program is located.
• Minimum of two years of nursing experience in hospice, home health, or community health in the last five years.
• Equivalent experience or licensure may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-of-life care and ensure hospice patients are comfortable while building compassionate connections.
• Exercise autonomy to make bedside care decisions to support patient comfort and dignity.
• Maintain focus on comfort-focused, palliative care as part of the patient’s journey.
• Visit patients at home or in assisted living/skilled nursing facilities, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.
