Description

The Hospice Nurse, under physician direction, completes medical requirements while coordinating a whole person plan of care. The position is accountable for both direct and indirect quality care for patients of all ages. Care is tailored to the individualized needs of each patient, following the nursing process and in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act. The role involves professional development as an integral part of nursing practice. The Hospice Nurse coordinates patient care activities with other members of the healthcare team in a collegial relationship. Upholds standards of confidentiality, attendance, and punctuality.

Required Qualifications

  • Education to meet certification, license or registration requirements.
  • Oregon Registered Nurse License upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
  • At least 2 years of medical/surgical experience in an acute care setting, and/or a combination of medical/surgical, long-term care, home health, or hospice experience.
  • Experience using electronic medical record software.
