Qualifications

• One year of recent clinical nursing experience in medical-surgical, oncology or critical care environment.
• Previous hospice experience preferred.
• Excellent physical assessment, pain assessment and IV skills.
• Requires strong critical thinking skills and EMR experience.
• Verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients and families under stress.

Position Summary:

Responsible for providing skilled nursing care to terminally ill patients at Casey House. Responsibilities include assessing the needs of the patient and providing and documenting patient care in a caring and compassionate manner. To provide evidenced based nursing care to provide symptom management and emotional support in an inpatient setting. Exhibits expert end-of-life care and provides supervision to Hospice Aides.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program. B.S.N preferred.
• Current State of Maryland Nursing License. CHPN preferred.
