Job summary

Residential Home Health and Residential Hospice is seeking a Weekend Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver end-of-life hospice care to patients in their homes around the Wilkes-Barre, PA area. This position includes a $10,000 first-year success bonus for achieving milestones.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse, RN license in the state you work.
• Two years of RN experience; hospice experience preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to spend ~20% of time driving to patient locations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a hospice setting with an interdisciplinary team.
• Respond to patient needs with urgent assessments, symptom and pain management.
• Support and guide patients and families during weekends and crisis situations.
• Coordinate care with clinical team and maintain accurate EMR documentation.
• Travel to patient homes within assigned territory.

What You’ll Do:

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a hospice setting, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team dedicated to comfort, dignity, and quality of life.
• Respond to patient needs by performing urgent assessments, managing symptoms and pain, and providing compassionate end-of-life support in real time.
• Support and guide patients and families during weekends, and crisis situations, ensuring they feel informed, reassured, and cared for throughout the hospice journey.
• Apply strong clinical judgment and critical thinking to coordinate care needs, respond to changing patient conditions, and maintain accurate, timely, and compliant EMR documentation.
• Work independently, but never alone.
• Travel to patient homes within assigned territory.

Weekend RN Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse, RN license in the state you work.
• Two years of RN experience and the clinical expertise to deliver quality patient care, Hospice experience preferred.
• Due to the field-based nature of this home health position, a valid driver’s license and the ability to spend approximately 20% of your workday driving to and from patient locations are required.
