Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a Physician (MD/DO) to lead hospice care for patients in Pennsylvania. You will conduct in-person assessments, manage symptoms for comfort, oversee admissions and certifications, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create personalized care plans.

The role involves on-call coverage and coordination for home visits. Strong communication skills and board-eligible/certified hospice/palliative specialization are preferred.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Current and unencumbered state medical license.
• Active membership on hospital medical staff.
• CPR certification is current.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and agency liability insurance for home visits.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive face-to-face patient assessments and manage symptoms to provide comfort.
• Oversee admissions, discharges, certifications, and medication management for hospice patients.
• Lead goals-of-care discussions with patients and families.
• Collaborate with nurses, social workers, chaplains, and other specialists to develop and update care plans.
