Job summary

Silverado Hospice Orange County is seeking a Director of Patient Care Services to lead hospice care delivery, support interdisciplinary teams, andensure regulatory compliance. This role blends leadership, clinical expertise, and empathy to provide dignified, meaningful care to patients and families.

You will oversee nursing staff, collaborate with administrators and physicians, manage budgets for labor and supplies, and drive quality care across the organization.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Current, active RN license in the state of employment.
• CPR certification required; Hospice and Palliative Nursing preferred.
• 2+ years supervisory or managerial hospice/home health experience (last 5 years) OR 4+ years supervisory/managerial hospice/home health experience (last 5 years).
• Experience with EMR systems; WellSky familiarity desirable.

Responsibilities

• Serve as role model and resource for nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams.
• Support staff in problem-solving and determining appropriate clinical interventions.
• Collaborate with Administrator on hiring, orientation, retention, and performance management.
• Adhere to budget requirements for labor, pharmacy, DME, and medical supplies.
• Coordinate patient care with RN Case Managers and attending physicians.
• Review and manage patients at higher levels of care (respite, inpatient, continuous care).
• Oversee clinical and management responsibilities for assigned teams.
• Act as liaison between Administrator, clinical staff, patients, families, and community partners.
