By The Bay Health is seeking a highly qualified Palliative Care and Hospice Physician to provide clinical, operational, and educational leadership. The role partners with an interdisciplinary team to expand program reach, ensure compliance, and support staff while serving as a UCSF Affiliate in Marin.

Remote/hybrid work with onsite in Larkspur once per week, and hospice focus balanced with GIP and palliative care duties. A full-time schedule offers meaningful impact and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree required and CA medical license active.
• Board certification in relevant specialty preferred or eligible.
• DEA registration and strong clinical decision-making skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide physician oversight for hospice patients via telemedicine or phone.
• Manage complex symptoms to maximize comfort and quality of life.
• Respond to admission and clinical consultation calls from staff.
• Certify hospice eligibility following Medicare guidelines.
• Collaborate with nurses, social workers, chaplains, and IDT members.
• Provide after-hours coverage during call rotations.
• Lead the Palliative Care Program and supervise NPs.
• Ensure high-quality, evidence-based care aligned with IDT.
