By The Bay Health in California seeks a Palliative Care and Hospice Physician to lead clinical, operational, and program development for hospice, palliative care, and GIP services. As UCSF Affiliate, you will train fellows and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.

The role is hybrid/remote with weekly onsite in Larkspur; approx 38 hours/week; pay range $150–$160 per hour; requires MD/DO, board cert eligible, CA license, hospice/palliative experience.

Qualifications

• Requires MD or DO with CA license.
• Board certification or eligibility in internal medicine, family medicine, geriatrics or related specialty.

Responsibilities

• Provide physician oversight for hospice patients via telephone and telemedicine.
• Manage complex symptoms and adjust medications to maximize comfort and quality of life.
• Respond to admission and clinical consultation calls from nurses and admission staff.
• Certify hospice eligibility in accordance with Medicare guidelines.
• Collaborate with hospice nurses, NP’s, social workers, chaplains, and other IDT members.
• Provide after-hours physician coverage during assigned call rotations.
• Provide medical leadership to the Palliative Care Program and two NPs.
• Oversee delivery of high-quality palliative care in alignment with IDT.
• GIP Program Oversight: support GIP, direct patient care and ensure quality and compliance.
