Job summary

Hospice of the Chesapeake in Largo, MD seeks a Hospice and Palliative Care Physician responsible for collaborating with other physicians under the Medical Director, overseeing admission, plan of care, and service delivery across the patient’s course.

The role requires MD/DO, Maryland license, board certification in hospice and palliative care or impending certification, and at least two years in medicine; proficient in EMRs, strong communication, and ability to work in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree and Maryland license required.
• Board certification in hospice and palliative care or certification as Hospice Medical Director within 2–3 years of employment.
• Minimum two years of medical experience; hospice/palliative setting desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Hospice Medical Director and senior medical staff in ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Provide medical expertise for surveys, peer reviews, and licensure compliance.
• Develop and implement department policies and procedures.
• Participate in Quality/PI programs and use data to drive improvements.
• Confirm patient eligibility for hospice services and document CTI and attestation for admissions.
