Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services seeks a Board Eligible / Board Certified Hospice/ Palliative Care Physician to join our established practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The position offers a nationally competitive salary with relocation allowance available, CME allowance and fully paid malpractice insurance.

The attending role includes caring for hospice patients, developing care plans with patients and families, and leading the hospice team.

Qualifications

• Board eligible or board certified Hospice/Palliative physician.
• Five or more years of experience preferred.
• Fellowship training in Hospice and Palliative Medicine preferred.
• Board certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine expected within 2 years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Attend as the attending for hospice patients in the community and Presbyterian hospice units unless followed by a PCP.
• Consult with patient and family to develop a care plan aligned with patient goals.
• Relieve suffering of patients and families using clinical skills.
• Provide oversight of hospice care team (RN, APN or PAs) as required by Medical Staff Bylaws.
• Maintain coding and encounter data standards for billing and reimbursement.
• Document direct patient care services to support successful billing.
