Good Samaritan in Ottumwa, IA, is seeking a Certified Nurse Practitioner to join our hospice team. This role involves collaborative management with physicians, RNs, and other health care professionals to provide holistic care to clients and families.

The NP will assess patients, manage acute and chronic conditions, prescribe treatments, and participate in quality improvement while adhering to HIPAA and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• Master’s, post-master’s, or doctorate from an NP program accredited by CCNE or NLN.”
• Minimum two years clinical NP experience in geriatric, adult or family practice; palliative/hospice preferred.
• Current licensure by the state board of nursing for advanced practice; DEA permit to prescribe controlled substances.
• Current ANCC (or equivalent) certification; Scope of Practice approved by the state Board of Nursing.
• Privileging documents/credentialing requirements will supersede this job description.
• HIPAA knowledge and compliance with confidentiality rules.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic, compassionate care to clients and families as an NP in hospice.
• Collaborate with physicians, RNs and other health care professionals in care planning and management.
• Perform health assessments, interpret data, and determine appropriate treatments and follow-up.
• Prescribe medications and provide palliative care within the scope of practice.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and participate in quality improvement activities.
• Coordinate with inter-disciplinary team and Hospice location staff to optimize client outcomes.

Master's / Doctorate in Nurse Practitioner program (CCNE/ NLN accredited)
