Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner to provide direct patient care across specialty clinics. This role includes prescribing therapies, ordering tests, and developing treatment plans under physician supervision.

APRN certification and Texas licensure are required to practice independently with appropriate credentialing by Medicare/Medicaid. The practitioner may work in inpatient, emergency, or procedural settings, with potential for diverse clinical exposure and

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Texas or compact RN with APRN.
• Current Nurse Practitioner license in Texas.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Board certification as an APRN for the patient population required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical and mental condition; perform comprehensive or problem-focused exams and take medical histories.
• Order, collect, interpret labs and diagnostic tests to assess health needs.
• Prescribe or recommend therapies; perform procedures per approved protocols; promote safe, effective care.
• Develop and implement patient treatment plans with physicians and team; evaluate response to care.
• Counsel patients and families on medical processes, medications, nutrition, and health promotion.
• Maintain records of treatment plans and outcomes; initiate timely referrals when needed.
• Provide consultation for conditions related to the specialty and training.
• Manage patients in settings beyond the primary clinic (inpatient, emergencies, etc.).
• Perform invasive procedures within scope and clinical proficiency.
• May be required to support department coverage needs.

Education

Texas RN licensure / RN with compact privilege; Texas APRN license

Current Texas RN or NP licensure and board-certified APRN
