Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and NP program.
- Current nursing licensure in the state.
- Master's degree with at least 1 year NP experience and 1 year hospice/palliative care experience.
- Accreditation from an approved certifying body for advanced practice nursing.
- Certification in a specialist area preferred (e.g., CHPN).
- Licensed driver with insured vehicle as required.
Responsibilities
- Provide medical care and manage terminal illness under physician supervision.
- Complete histories and physical examinations and document findings.
- Develop individualized plans of care and coordinate hospice services.
- Prescribe medications and treatments to relieve symptoms and review eligibility.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to implement and revise care plans.
- Ensure compliance with state Nurse Practice Act and hospice regulations.
