Qualifications

• Requires a Baccalaureate or Master’s degree in music therapy.
• State licensure as a music therapist.
• Minimum 2 years of music therapy experience; hospice/community care preferred.
• Current CPR certification.
• Understanding hospice philosophy and focus on comfort.
• Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provides music therapy services to patients according to a written plan of care.
• Directs music therapy treatment and prioritizes patient needs.
• Prepares and submits clinical and progress summaries.
• Provides music therapy consultation to families/caregivers as appropriate.
• Provides in-service education for nursing personnel.
• Participates in the interdisciplinary group.
• Contributes to quality improvement activities.
• Participates in hospice team orientation.
