Job summary

Peoples Health Services in Pensacola, FL seeks a dedicated Music Therapist to provide individualized therapy to hospice patients and families, integrating music into the plan of care. You will work with the interdisciplinary team to enhance comfort, emotional well-being, and quality of life in home, facility, and inpatient settings.

Applicants must hold a Bachelor's or Master’s in Music Therapy, MT-BC certification, CPR, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Music Therapy from an AMTA-approved program.
• MT-BC certification is required.
• CPR certification is required.
• Current driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Hospice or healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' needs and develop individualized music therapy plans.
• Provide in-home or facility-based music therapy sessions.
• Use live/recorded music, singing and instrument play to support comfort and coping.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to integrate therapy into care.
• Document assessments and outcomes in the EMR per regulations.
• Provide bereavement support as appropriate.
• Educate staff and volunteers on music therapy benefits.
