Job summary

Moments Hospice is seeking a Music Therapist to deliver personalized interventions that alleviate anxiety, pain and isolation for patients at end of life. This on-the-road role emphasizes autonomy, collaboration with the clinical team, and compassionate care in patients' homes and facilities.

You will lead sessions, document outcomes within 24 hours, maintain safety standards, and participate in ongoing training to advance your therapeutic skills.

Qualifications

Board-certified Music Therapist (CBMT) required.
Experience as a music practitioner or graduate of a music-as-health intervention program.
Proficiency with at least one musical instrument.
Understanding of hospice philosophy and compassionate care for terminally ill patients.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to follow safety policies and regulatory guidelines.
Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Lead and assist patients in music therapy interventions.
Reduce symptoms such as anxiety, depression, isolation and agitation through music.
Educate the clinical team on music therapy appropriateness and contraindications.
Maintain accurate records (clinical notes, charts) within 24 hours of sessions.

Qualifications

Experience as a Music Practitioner or graduate of a program focused on music as an intervention for health and wellness
Must be Board Certified as a Music Therapist by the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT).
Musical intelligence and mastery of at least one instrument
Understanding of hospice philosophy and comfort providing specialized care to the terminally ill
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to follow all safety rules and regulations (Vulnerable Adult/Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to Know)
Valid Driver's license
