Job summary

Residential Home Health and Hospice is seeking a licensed Music Therapist to provide in-home hospice care, delivering compassionate, patient-centered services with an emphasis on comfort and quality of life.

The role involves independent field work across the Clarkston area, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, and supporting patients and families through end-of-life care with empathy and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Music Therapy degree is required.
• Current MT-BC board certification is required where applicable.
• State music therapy licensing where required.
• At least six months of geriatric health care experience.
• At least six months of end-of-life/terminal illness health care experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered hospice music therapy services.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to promote comfort and quality of life.
• Educate patients and caregivers with therapeutic music interventions.
• Work independently but remain connected with the team as needed.
• Travel to patient homes within the assigned Clarkston territory.

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a hospice setting, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team dedicated to comfort, dignity, and quality of life

• Work independently but never alone
• Travel to patient homes within assigned territory

Music Therapist Qualifications

• Bachelor of Music Therapy degree
• Current Board certified (MT-BC) credential according to U. S. Certification Board for Music Therapists
• State music therapy licensing where required
• At least six (6) months of work/education experience with geriatric health care
• At least six (6) months of work /education experience with end-of-life/terminal illness health care
• Due to the field-based nature of this home health position, a valid driver’s license and the ability to spend approximately 20% of your workday driving to and from patient locations are required
