Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 4 years working experience in billing, insurance accounting and/or accounts receivable procedures in a healthcare facility.
• Computer efficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.

Responsibilities

• Process and review claims (UB-04/HCFA 1500) and make corrections as needed.
• Enter physician and nurse practitioner visits and charges into the patient care system.
• Review claims for accuracy and coordinate with departments to resolve issues prior to submission.
• Generate and submit UB-04 and HCFA 1500 claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payers.
• Coordinate with Medicare/Medicaid and other payers regarding status and denials.
• Assist with monthly billing, cash reconciliation, and revenue reporting.
