Job summary

Genesis HealthCare System in Ohio is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator for Hospice, responsible for orientation, training and coordinating volunteers across service areas, and for program administration and development.

The role works with hospital staff, supports public relations and marketing for Genesis Hospice and Palliative Care, maintains volunteer records, and helps recruit and retain volunteers while ensuring quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required or equivalent related 3 years of hospice experience required.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license.
• Proof of auto liability insurance.
• Excellent interpersonal, decision-making, facilitation, conflict resolutions and investigative skills.
• Must be self-directed with ability to work independently.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must have good computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates orientation, training and development of hospice volunteers across service areas.
• Oversees volunteer program administration and development.
• Collaborates with hospital volunteer staff as needed.
• Develops and implements hospice marketing to support Genesis Hospice and Palliative Care.
• Maintains volunteer records and annual evaluations.
• Participates in fundraising, planning, utilization and supervision of volunteers.
• Attends weekly team meetings and reports on volunteer involvement with patients and families.
