Job summary

MaineGeneral Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Home Health Hospice for a nursing job in Augusta, Maine. The role focuses on compassionate end-of-life care for patients and families, delivering holistic care during the dying process.

This staff position offers 32 hours per week with 8-hour days. New graduates are encouraged to apply, and a $20,000 sign-on bonus is possible for experienced nurses.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Maine or a compact state is required.
• New graduate RNs are encouraged to apply!
• Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Strong critical thinking skills and decisive judgment; ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Consult with the multidisciplinary team regularly to evaluate the patient’s status and appropriateness of care, including admission, length of stay, transfer, and discharge.
• Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions, including making recommendations to providers regarding additional services needed and referrals for community resources.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources; monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team planning to collaborate with other disciplines to determine the appropriateness of care and other services needed.
