Job summary

Hospice of Washington County in Hagerstown, MD seeks a Field Educator to serve as consultant, educator and expert nursing practitioner. The role supports field-based staff and nursing leaders in resolving complex RN clinical practice issues, delivering evidence-based practice across Gilchrist and GBMC affiliations.

BSN preferred; minimum two years RN experience with supervisory exposure. Responsibilities include orientation, annual nurse training, competency assessment, and advancing wound care

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of nursing theory, practice and education.
• Ability to translate best practices into staff education.
• Strong collaboration across departments to improve patient care.

Responsibilities

• Teaches and coaches nurses and hospice aides in best practices for patient and family care.
• Leads development and maintains clinical reference tools and standard works.
• Collaborates with clinical leaders on regulations, policies and procedures.
• Guides wound care and other specialized hospice care practices.
• Preceptor for nursing students and educator for orientation/training.
