Job summary

Interim HealthCare in Madison, WI is seeking a Director of Hospice to lead our hospice team across the surrounding area. You will oversee care delivery, ensure regulatory compliance, and build strong relationships with patients and families.

Ideal candidates are graduates of an accredited nursing program with an active RN or BSN in Wisconsin, plus hospice nursing case management experience and at least one year in home health management.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and active RN or BSN in Wisconsin.
• Minimum hospice nursing case management experience.
• 1 year hospice/home health experience managing caregivers.
• CPR certification.
• Extensive knowledge of home health and hospice laws/regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the delivery of hospice care to patients and families, ensuring highest quality care and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure staff levels meet patient needs.
• Recruit, hire, orient, train and oversee hospice staff.
• Assist Administrator with budgets and financial reports.
• Evaluate patient care and adherence to policies and procedures.
• Maintain inventory of medical supplies and medication.

As our Director of Hospice, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do

• Oversee the delivery of hospice care to patients and their families, ensuring the highest quality of care in accordance with home health and hospice regulations and standards
• Ensure hospice staff levels are sufficient to meet the needs of patients and families
• Recruit, hire, orient, train and oversee hospice staff providing patient and family care
• Assist Hospice Administrator in the preparation and management of budgets and financial reports
• Evaluate patient care and ensure compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory standards
• Maintain inventory of medical supplies, equipment and medication to meet patient needs

A few must-haves for a Director of Hospice

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and active RN or BSN license in Wisconsin
• Minimum of 2 years of hospice nursing case management.
• At least 1 year of hospice or home health experience managing caregivers
• CPR certification
• Extensive knowledge of state/federal home health and hospice laws and regulatory standards
• Excellent management, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
