Job summary

Optimal Hospice is seeking a Compliance Coordinator to assure ongoing CMS and JCI readiness, oversee QAPI initiatives, and maintain regulatory compliance across Medicare/Medicaid, state rules, and hospice standards.

In this role you will educate staff, mentor clinicians, and collaborate with nursing leadership to ensure accurate documentation and quality of care. Weekend coverage and program development are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing or health care preferred.
• Current Registered Coordinator licensure in State of Practice required.
• Minimum of 2 years healthcare quality and compliance experience required.
• Minimum of 3 years hospice experience required.
• Proficient with Windows, Microsoft Office, EMR systems; Netsmart a plus.
• CMS vaccination requirement for patient-facing staff.
• Strong leadership, QAPI management and strategic planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure CMS and JCI survey readiness via audits, mock surveys, and data analysis.
• Maintain compliance with Medicare/Medicaid and state regulations.
• Identify education needs and coordinate staff training.
• Lead QAPI program development and improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership to ensure proper documentation.
• Conduct quarterly chart audits and report trends.
• Support weekend work as needed and mentor clinicians.
• Coordinate episodic management with branch leadership.
