Job summary

Otterbein is seeking a Hospice CNA/STNA to assist in growing our Hospice ministry. The role supports person-centered care in home and community settings, collaborating with nurses, a chaplain, and a social worker to deliver compassionate hospice services.

Shifts are Full-time, 8a-5p, Monday through Friday. Candidates must hold Ohio STNA and CPR certification, with at least one year of direct patient care experience and a commitment to a mission-focused ministry.

Qualifications

• Must have CNA/STNA certification and be on the Ohio State Registry and remain active
• Minimum of one year direct patient care experience in an institutional or home care setting
• High school diploma or GED preferred; 18+ with ability to read/write at adequate level
• Must be able to work within a multidisciplinary team and understand hospice philosophy

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care
• Ensures care is provided with respect and dignity to patients and families
• Keeps record of hospice plan of care for each patient
• Observes, records, and reports patient care, symptoms, and status
• Reports changes in patient condition to the RN
• Assists in feeding the patient as needed
• Communicates with patient/family and agency personnel
• Attends required in-services (12 hours/year)
• Participates in Hospice IDT meetings to coordinate care
• Participates in QAPI activities
• Willingness to travel between Lebanon, Middletown, and Springboro
