Job summary

Hospice of the Bluegrass Inc in Kentucky is seeking a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) to support patients under RN supervision. You will provide personal care, observe and document patient condition, and help maintain comfort and safety in a hospice setting.

Candidates must be 18+, Kentucky State Nurse Aide registry, CNA training, and able to work independently. A driver's license with reliable vehicle is required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and a high school graduate or equivalent.
• Currently registered as a State Nurse Aide with the Kentucky Board of Nursing.
• Completion of a recognized Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) training program.
• One year of experience in a hospital or nursing home setting, preferred.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions, and accurately document care provided.
• Self-directed with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrates empathy for ill, frail, or terminally ill individuals and understands hospice care philosophy.
• Must be a licensed driver with an automobile in good working order.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support to meet the patient’s daily needs while on the hospice care team.
• Observe the patient’s condition and accurately report and document observations and services provided.
• Help maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients under the supervision of an RN.
