Job summary

Empath Health invites a compassionate Hospice Aide to join Tidewell Hospice, part of the Empath Health network in Florida. You will provide direct patient care under a nurse’s supervision, following the Hospice Aide Plan of Care and maintaining strict confidentiality with patients and families.

We seek candidates with a valid Florida CNA license, a Florida driver’s license, and 1–3 years of relevant experience, preferably in long-term care.

Qualifications

• Valid Florida Board of Nursing certification (CNA License).
• Valid Florida State Driver’s License (required if driving to other facilities).
• One to Three Years of training and/or experience required; one year in a long term care facility strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports and carries out the organization’s mission, vision, and values on a consistent basis.
• Performs only those personal care/home maintenance activities contained in a written assignment (Hospice Aide Plan of Care) by a health professional employee.
• Recognizes and reports unusual conditions, incidents or behavior of a patient and/or patient/family interaction to the patient’s nurse or supervisory nurse.
• Recognizes the role of the Hospice Aide and works within that scope of practice at all times.
• Maintains utmost respect for confidentiality in care of the patient/family.
