Job summary

Empath Health is seeking a compassionate Hospice Aide to support patients with advanced illness in southwest Florida. You will perform assigned personal care tasks under supervision and report any concerns to the nurse. Confidentiality and respect for patients and families are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid Florida Board of Nursing certification (CNA License).
• Valid Florida State Driver’s License.
• One to Three Years of training and/or experience; long term care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports and carries out the organization’s mission, vision, and values on a consistent basis.
• Performs only those personal care/home maintenance activities contained in a written assignment (Hospice Aide Plan of Care).
• Recognizes and reports unusual conditions, incidents or behavior to the patient’s nurse or supervisory nurse.
• Recognizes the role of the Hospice Aide and works within that scope of practice at all times.
• Maintains utmost respect for confidentiality in care of the patient/family.
