Job summary

Amedisys, a leading home health and hospice provider, is seeking a hospice aide to join our team in Berks County. This full-time daytime position offers competitive pay and a mission-driven environment focused on patient comfort at home.

Responsibilities include personal care, patient safety, meal preparation, and homemaking in patients' homes, with care plans coordinated by a registered nurse. Valid PA CNA license and CPR required, driving is necessary.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state certification as a nurse assistant.
• CPR certification up to date.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics during care tasks.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals and assists with feeding.
• Performs homemaking and environmental services as assigned.
• Observes, reports, and documents changes in patient status to the nurse.
• Follows written care instructions prepared by a registered nurse.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as directed by the nurse or therapist.
• Performs simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.
