Job summary

Arc Hospice & Palliative Care is seeking a compassionate Hospice Aide (CNA) to deliver direct personal care and support to patients in their homes and licensed facilities across Broward County. You will work with a collaborative clinical team to promote comfort, dignity, and compassionate end‑of‑life care.

The role requires active CNA certification, CPR, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to follow written care plans.

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification in good standing with completed state-approved training program.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to read, follow, and document written care instructions accurately.
• Understanding hospice philosophy and needs of terminally ill individuals.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license for home and facility visits.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, oral hygiene, skin care.
• Assist with ambulation, transfers, repositioning, and ROM as directed.
• Observe and report changes to supervising nurse or manager.
• Assist with meals, feeding, and hydration per care plan.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to promote comfort and dignity.
• Record vital signs as trained and directed by the nurse.
• Maintain clean, safe care environment and light housekeeping.
• Provide respite support to family caregivers during visits.
• Document care accurately per agency policy.
• Follow infection control and HIPAA privacy requirements.
