Job summary

Gentiva is seeking a compassionate Hospice Aide/CNA to provide hands-on personal care and emotional support to patients in home settings, assisted living facilities, or inpatient units. The role emphasizes dignity, comfort, and compassionate care for patients and families during end-of-life journeys.

Requirements include an active CNA license, current CPR certification, and a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation. Minimum 6 months of direct patient care experience is required.

Qualifications

• Active CNA license in the state of employment (Required).
• Current CPR certification (Required).
• Driver’s license and reliable vehicle with insurance (Required).
• Six (6) months of direct patient care experience (Required).
• Comfortable working in home settings, hospice facilities, or long-term care environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care to terminally ill patients.
• Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, and toileting.
• Support safe mobility, including use of walkers and wheelchairs.
• Help with meal preparation, feeding, and light housekeeping.
• Observe and report changes in the patient’s condition.
• Offer emotional and psychological support to patients and families.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of visits.
• Attend team meetings and participate in Quality Improvement activities.
