Job summary

Hospice of Western and Central Massachusetts is seeking a part‑time CNA to support patients throughout Franklin County. This on‑the‑road role requires a valid insured vehicle and willingness to travel. Weekly pay ranges from $22 to $24 per hour, with 3 days per week from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The CNA will perform personal care, observe and report patient status, and document care provided, ensuring comfort and safety while working closely with the Case Manager and hospice team.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active and unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant license in this state.
• Must be comfortable in patients' settings (skilled nursing, hospitals, homes, etc.)
• Must have at least one year of experience as a CNA.

Responsibilities

• Perform personal care needs per plan of care, including bathing, feeding, and dressing.
• Provide patients and families with a positive communication chain and a friendly, professional environment.
• Meet the safety needs of the patient using equipment safely and properly.
• Plan and prepare nutritious meals, including shopping, as assigned.
• Take and record temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure when ordered with competency.
• Provide proper care and observation of the patient’s skin.
• Assess and report on the patient’s condition and changes to the Case Manager.
• Assist in ambulation and exercise as instructed by the hospice nurse or therapist.
• Provide normal range of motion and transfers/positioning as directed.

This is an on-the-road position that requires the candidate to have an insured vehicle and be willing to travel throughout the county. Weekly pay ranges from $22 to $24 an hour! 3 days a week from 8a-4:30p.

You perform various services for a patient as necessary to meet the patient’s personal needs and to promote comfort. The hospice aide is responsible for observing the patient, reporting these observations, and documenting observations and care performed.

Experience & Education:

• Must hold an active and unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant license in this state.
• Must be comfortable in patients' settings (skilled nursing, hospitals, homes, etc.)
• Must have at least one year of experience as a CNA.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Performing personal care needs per plan of care, including bathing, feeding, and dressing.
• Providing patients and families with a positive communication chain and a friendly and professional environment.
• Meet the safety needs of the patient using equipment safely and properly.
• Planning and preparing nutritious meals, including shopping, as assigned.
• Taking and recording oral, rectal, and auxiliary temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure when ordered with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency.
• Providing proper care and observation of the patient’s skin.
• Assessing and reporting on the patient’s condition and significant changes to the Case Manager.
• Assisting in ambulation and exercise as instructed by the hospice nurse or therapist.
• Provide normal range of motion and transfers/positioning as directed.
