Job summary

Hospice of Western and Central Massachusetts is seeking a part-time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to travel across Franklin County. The role requires an insured vehicle and willingness to travel; hours are 3 days a week from 8:00 a.m.

to 4:30 p.m., with weekly pay ranging from $22 to $24 per hour. The CNA will provide personal care, observe and report patient conditions, and assist with routines and comfort measures in various settings, including homes and facilities.

Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered CNA license in this state.
• Comfortable working in patient settings (skilled nursing, hospitals, homes).
• Minimum of 1 year of CNA experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform personal care tasks per plan of care (bathing, feeding, dressing).
• Maintain a positive communication chain with patients and families.
• Ensure patient safety using equipment properly.
• Plan and prepare nutritious meals as assigned.
• Record vitals (temperature, pulse, respiration, BP) when ordered.
• Care for and monitor skin condition.
• Assess and report changes to the Case Manager.
• Assist with ambulation, exercise, transfers, and ROM as directed.

Hospice of Western and Central Massachusetts is looking for a part-time CNA in Franklin County!

This is an on-the-road position that requires the candidate to have an insured vehicle and be willing to travel throughout the county. Weekly pay ranges from $22 to $24 an hour! 3 days a week from 8a-4:30p.

You perform various services for a patient as necessary to meet the patient’s personal needs and to promote comfort. The hospice aide is responsible for observing the patient, reporting these observations, and documenting observations and care performed.

Experience & Education:

• Must hold an active and unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant license in this state.
• Must be comfortable in patients' settings (skilled nursing, hospitals, homes, etc.)
• Must have at least one year of experience as a CNA.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Performing personal care needs per plan of care, including bathing, feeding, and dressing.
• Providing patients and families with a positive communication chain and a friendly and professional environment.
• Meet the safety needs of the patient using equipment safely and properly.
• Planning and preparing nutritious meals, including shopping, as assigned.
• Taking and recording oral, rectal, and auxiliary temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure when ordered with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency.
• Providing proper care and observation of the patient’s skin.
• Assessing and reporting on the patient’s condition and significant changes to the Case Manager.
• Assisting in ambulation and exercise as instructed by the hospice nurse or therapist.
• Provide normal range of motion and transfers/positioning as directed.
