Job summary

Mt. Carmel Hospice seeks a dedicated Hospice Educator (RN) in Columbus, OH to lead orientation, education, and documentation support for clinicians. You will design education programs, coordinate ongoing training, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards across the service area.

The role emphasizes collaboration with leadership, teaching methodologies, and a focus on patient-centered care. Travel across service sites is required as part of ongoing education and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing Education Program.
• Current RN licensure in Ohio.
• Strong knowledge of hospice regulations, compliance, and clinical practice standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including creating educational materials, presentations, curricula, and instructional resources.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to travel throughout the service area as needed.
• Commitment to Mt. Carmel’s mission, values, Code of Ethics, and Compliance Program.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized orientation plans for new clinicians.
• Collaborate with managers, preceptors, schedulers, IT teams, and new hires to facilitate onboarding.
• Provide oversight of field orientation and evaluate progress toward competency goals.
• Review clinical documentation and provide coaching and feedback.
• Develop action plans and re-education strategies when gaps are identified.
• Serve as a mentor and coach to support clinician success and engagement.
• Assess educational needs and design learning programs for hospice staff.
• Coordinate ongoing education and competency validation activities.
• Support survey readiness and compliance with regulations.
