Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System is seeking a Nurse Educator to provide consultation and education to patients, families, staff, and physicians. The role leads educational initiatives, ensures alignment with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, and supports organizational goals through change leadership.

The position emphasizes development of education programs, patient education materials, and collaboration across platforms to meet learning needs in a dynamic care environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio; professional certification preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year recent experience in area of specialization preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the learning needs of associates in patient care settings and develops/teaches programs.
• Serves as a resource for staff on critical thinking, equipment use, and problem solving in clinical situations.
• Develops, reviews, and revises standards of care, policies, procedures, and guidelines to reflect evidence-based practice.
• Develops patient education materials that are readable, culturally sensitive, and accessible across platforms including written, electronic, and web-based resources.
• Presents an education plan and coordinates educational initiatives across departments.
