Job summary

Acacia Health (Palliative, Home Health, & Hospice) seeks a compassionate Chaplain/Spiritual Counselor to serve our hospice division. You will conduct spiritual assessments, provide bereavement counseling, and participate as a valued member of the interdisciplinary team.

The role is part-time, per visit, covering North OC and San Gabriel Valley, with on-call duties and weekend availability as needed. A seminary or theology degree is required, and hospice experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited seminary or school of theology (BD, MDiv or equivalent theological degree).
• Experience working with death and dying, individuals/family/caregiver.
• Comfort in an interfaith setting.
• Ability to accept different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values.
• Knowledge of and commitment to hospice philosophy of care.
• Hospice experience preferred.
• Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with CA requirements and is in good working order.

Responsibilities

• The Chaplain performs spiritual assessments of patients and families/caregivers, provides bereavement counseling, consultation, education, and is a member of the interdisciplinary group.
