Job summary

Southcoast Health System, Inc. invites applications for a Supportive Care Chaplain at Visiting Nurse Association in Fairhaven, MA.

This 40-hour position offers day shifts (8:00am–4:30pm) focused on spiritual care for terminally ill patients and families. The ideal candidate holds a master's degree or higher in a related field, with theology/ministry certification and at least one year of relevant experience, plus compliance with vaccination requirements.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related discipline.
• Graduate of accredited seminar or school of theology or appropriate certification in hospital ministry.
• Minimum of one year experience with patients/families facing life‑threatening illness.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID-19 or have a documented exemption.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual support to terminally ill patients and families under the director's guidance.
• Make spiritual assessments considering mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual stresses.
• Direct the spiritual care plan and liaise with community clergy.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives and train pastoral care volunteers.
