Job summary

Sentara Hospice is seeking a Chaplain to provide spiritual support and bereavement counseling to patients and their families. The role includes making home visits, administering sacraments, and serving as a resource on spiritual and bereavement issues, with documentation in the patient record.

The position is full-time (40 hours/week) with a day shift in Chesapeake, VA. A Bachelor’s degree is required and 2 years of pastoral care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2 years pastoral care experience preferred.
• Ability to provide spiritual support and bereavement counseling to patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual support and bereavement counseling to patients and families in the Hospice Program.
• Make home visits and administer sacraments as applicable.
• Serve as a resource for information on spiritual and bereavement issues and document relevant information in the patient record.
