Qualifications

• Master of Divinity or Master of Religious Education from an accredited seminary preferred; Bachelor's in ministry related field required.
• Three to five years of pastoral care experience preferred.
• Ordination to Pastoral Ministry and denominational endorsement preferred.
• Certification in Chaplaincy, chaplain experience or completion of at least one unit of Clinical Pastoral education or willingness to complete after hire preferred.
• Knowledge of grief process.
• Public relations/speaking skills.
• Knowledge of hospice philosophy, dying process, and bereavement and spirituality.

Responsibilities

• Provides spiritual/pastoral care to patients and families; aligns with patient/family wishes and needs.
• Documents spiritual counseling in patient records and EMR daily.
• Works with local clergy and area churches to coordinate spiritual support.
• Participates in bereavement care and memorial services for families and community.
• Supports staff with personal spiritual care and bereavement needs.
• Engages in ongoing professional growth through workshops, seminars, and reading.
• Adheres to the agency's Compliance Program and ethical standards.
