Job summary

Your Health seeks a Hospice Chaplain to support palliative care patients in the Brunswick area, visiting homes and assisted living facilities. The role combines spiritual guidance, compassionate presence, and meaning-making for patients and families, with a weekday 8‑hour schedule (8:00 AM‑5:00 PM).

Responsibilities include spiritual assessment, interdisciplinary collaboration, bereavement support, and community outreach. A Master of Divinity and ordination are preferred.

Qualifications

• Master of Divinity or equivalent theological degree.
• Ordination or endorsement from a recognized religious organization.
• Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) certification preferred.
• Experience providing spiritual care in healthcare, preferably hospice or palliative care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct spiritual assessments to understand beliefs and needs.
• Provide spiritual counseling to patients and families addressing fears and existential questions.
• Offer prayers, scripture readings, and rituals when requested.
• Facilitate meaning-making and life-review conversations for peace and closure.
• Collaborate with hospice team to address spiritual needs in care plans.
• Provide spiritual support to staff and volunteers.
• Develop relationships with local clergy and faith communities.
• Conduct presentations on spirituality and end-of-life care for community groups.
• Represent the hospice organization at events.
